A lot has been heard about wolfram alpha engine , also microsoft has come with his new search engine bing , so also has google with google squared. Sometimes back cuil was there,developed by ex-googlites. Google and Yahoo has been always there. apart from these many more exist , but unable to mark up their presence.
Starting with Google,it has ability to captivate any new user who even accidentally use it. The simple home page , which now is preference of all new search engines ,was a great idea. In performance it beats all except bing comprehensively.The bing more looks like a cut- copy- paste version of google,but is free from extra burdens which google carries ,labs,apps ,blogs, scholar ,code ...etc.
In order to evaluate all these have tried the following queries.
1) images of shruti hassan,sharon stone,anushka sharma,a girl of my college
In the images displayed Bing scores over Google , the first sets of photo were the lovliest in Bing cases,but only drawback was all the results were displayed on the same web-page,so u have to scroll down.
2) weight of earth
Wolfram scores neatly , plus providing some intersting additional facts
3) author of midnight children , godan and one night at call center.
Wolfram only scores when it has data , in case of salman rushdie , but in other two cases Google, Yahoo and Bing scorse
4) presidents of india, green mile movie
Google squared scores giving data in very beautifully and neatly
5) anushka sharma,deepika,asin,genelia
Google squared scores ,not only does it tell about them but also tells about all other actress
6) movie downloading site
Google and Bing both
7) videos
Here Bing scores , because Google does nothing except turning u to u tube.
8) spelling mistakes
Wolfram alpha gets heavily puzzled .
So in the end Google wins (mainly due to it's first runner advantage), but it closely followed by Bing .
Bing and Google both can be used for most of the searches.But if have to deal with facts and figures turn to Wolfram alpha ,and if wants some inter-related searches Google squared is the best.Cuil gets lost in them .
